Senior Water Resources Engineer
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Water Resources Engineer located in Raleigh, NC. The Senior Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for managing water resources projects, including storm drainage design, stormwater management plans, and bridge and culvert hydraulic analysis. The engineer will collaborate with team members to design and implement effective solutions that comply with regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks may include completing scopes of work and workday estimates, conducting site assessments, developing project plans, and reviewing designs completed by junior staff members to ensure project goals are met.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Leading design tasks and coordinating with internal staff, subconsultants, and clients
- Providing mentorship, technical guidance, and quality oversight for junior and developing engineers
- Reviewing stormwater plans developed by consultants for NCDOT and municipal clients
- Supporting project managers with technical input, design decisions, and production schedules
- Contributing to the refinement of design workflows and best practices within the roadway team

Qualifications
- 8 or more years of experience in Hydraulics & Hydrologic Modeling, Storm Drainage Design, and Erosion Control Design
- Proficiency with Open Roads Designer (ORD)
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulations related to environmental compliance
- Experience with NCDOT Guidelines and Procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe

Roadway Design Engineer
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Raleigh, NC, for an experienced Roadway Design Engineer with 7 or more years of professional roadway design experience. The engineer in this role will serve as a key technical lead on roadway design projects, responsible for developing roadway layouts, horizontal and vertical geometry, 3D corridor modeling in OpenRoads Designer (ORD), work zone traffic control plans, and signing and pavement marking design.
The Roadway Design Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary team members to deliver efficient, constructible design solutions that meet applicable engineering standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include preparing design plans, reviewing and marking up plan sets, and ensuring design quality throughout all project phases.

Professional Land Surveyor
Role Description
Sungate Design Group, PA is seeking a qualified candidate to manage and lead our growing survey group in our Raleigh, NC office. This position will manage all aspects of the survey group, including project management, field crew coordination and oversight, and QAQC. The selected candidate will also assist with field work and production of CAD deliverables.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Supervision and coordination of survey CAD technicians and field crews
- Prepare scope and fee estimates for survey projects
- Manage and execute survey projects from scoping to deliverables
- Prepare and review survey deliverables including ALTA, boundary, topographic, existing conditions, subdivision, recombination, and easement surveys.
- Assist with client and business development for surveying services
Qualifications
- Licensed land surveyor in the start of North Carolina
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in surveying preferred
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience working as a full-time land surveyor
- Experience in performing and managing survey projects, including field work, drafting, budget, and schedule.
- Proficient in survey CAD software such as Carlson or OpenRoads
- Proficient using Trimble Access and Business Center software.
- Proficient in conventional (total station) and GPS surveying techniques
- Driver’s license required
- NCDOT surveying experience preferred
